info on great grandparents from Caccamo Sicily Landolina &am
Piazza . My great grandmother was Carmella Landolina and she married Filippo Piazza. All I know is that he promised her mother he wouldn't take her to America and he did. I know he had one brother left in Sicily and I know nothing of her family in Sicily. I would like any help finding information or to know if I have any relatives left there. They left Sicily late 1800's I believe.
My great grandfather was murdered in Chicago Heights, Il. on July 22 1926 . I would appreciate any information I want to find out more about my family history. Even where they lived in Sicily I would love to visit.
Thank you in advance for all input!

I'm searching lost relatives and descendant of my greatgrandfather Vincenzo Genualdi (or Gennaldi or Genuardi) and my greatgrandmother Concetta Davola (their sons: Angela, Carmela, Antonio, Bartolomeo, Ernesto, Simone, Riccardo, Maria) went in Chicago,Ill., and New Orleans, in 1880-1920 from Sicily. Other family related : Jacobucci or Jacopucci (from Central Italy).

Re: info on great grandparents from Caccamo Sicily Landolina
Philip Piazza was reportedly the Mafia boss of Chicago Heights before he was murdered, allegedly by agents of Al Capone who eventually brought in the Heights into the Chicago Outfit. I have linked an article on Piazza. The press noted his affiliations and was mentioned in the memoirs of a former Mafioso named Nicola Gentile. I have been researching in this area for over twenty years and have published several articles.carar wrote:Piazza . My great grandmother was Carmella Landolina and she married Filippo Piazza. So have you studied this area beyond Al Capone.....say into the Sam Giancana era?

Yes I have, but I specialize in the earlier period. As an example, if you look on the internet and see mention of an article called "The Dreaded D'Andrea" about Anthony D'Andrea of Chicago (Piazza is mentioned there), that is one of mine. However, if you have a specific question about the Giancana era, feel free to ask.wldspirit wrote:So have you studied this area beyond Al Capone.....say into the Sam Giancana era?
