Seek information about Romeo Paolo born in Montebello Ionico (Reggio Calabria) Italy on April 3 1892. Lived and died in west virginia.

Died in July 1975. His social security number was 234-09-6486. In 1926 he lived in Shinnston, box 97. In the last years of his life was in a wheelchair. I have no other news.

The best thing to do is rent out the microfilm of the civil records for Montebello Jonico which cover all births,marriages and deaths in that town from 1810 to 1910. I assume his last name is ROMEO, Paolo.

You can determine that being born in 1892 his marriage in that town would have been (the usual practice was after military service at age 21+) 1913. The films would also give you his parents names and dates of birth and any spouse and children of that marriage in Montebello Jonico.

You can go to your nearest Mormon family history Library (go to www.familysearch.org for location nearest you and rent out the montebello Jonico microfilm for about $5.00.

Since you do not state where you are looking for any possible marriage and children I assume you mean in Italy and NOT the USA. =Peter=

Dear Gianna when Paolo arrived inthe USA in 1913 he was 19 years of age (being born in 1894) and his marital status is listed as "unknown". I think because he was 19 and not served inthe Italy army he stuill may have not been married but I thinkyou should know this doubt about a marriage in Italy on the www.ellisisland.org website. =peter=

In 1930 Paul Romeo is listed on the 1930 census as the head of the household.
His wife is Columbia.
The children listed are his step-children.
The children were probably from Columbia’s 1st marriage.

On the 1920 census Columbia is married to a Pete Mia with a son Frankie.

Columbia’s husband Pete Mia probably died between 1920 and 1923.

Columbia married Paul Romeo about 1923 and she and her children are living with Paul in 1930.

Since census records aren’t available after 1930, you’ll probably need to look for other records in Marion County, West Virginia.
