We are looking for anyone familiar with relatives of these particular names from the Trabia area.[align=center]

Navarro, Cancilla, Rancatore, Butera.

How about some names and birth dates? Born in Trabia or ?
Trabia, Sicily: Rinella, Campagna, Rubino, DiMatteo, Vallelunga, Gattuccio, Canciamilla, Arena, Alario, Barone, Sunseri, Trapani, Turturice Bell, Lima, Romano, Spitaleri, Cancilla,Tardio, Novello Tomasello, Sunseri Pirotto, and D'Anna.

The names I have are from the early 1900's. Charles(Ignazio) Rancatore came to US in about 1908. His parents were Carmello Rancatore and Maria Butera. My gmother was a Cancilla. Her parents were Marian Navarro and Sam (or salvatore) Cancilla. They were both from Trabia as far as we have records.

My father and grandfather are both from Trabia. My grandfather was a Salvatore Cancilla (just like me :D ). He had two wives, one's maiden name was Oppiano and I'm unsure of the other one. I know quite a few Rancadore's and few Buteras' living in the Bay Area out here in California but not sure where their lineage comes from.

see if you can pick out some same family names in the www.pagine bianche.it for Trabia for both first and family names since they tend to run in families you might be ablt to pick out a cousin or two. =Peter=

The Rancatore's in San Jose had a funeral home business for years, does this sound familiar to you?

i'm Davide Cangiamila Filippone from Trabia.

I'm a researcher of trabia's emigrates, i will arrive in San Jose in 4 april 2009, i'm guest of Giuseppe Chiaramonte and Enza Sacci(San Jose) and Paolo Cancilla (Sacramento).

I'm the president of Asslociation "Trabia Planet", i write genealogy tree, write emigration's history and copy the old photos of trabiesi.

from 5 april to 10 april i will meet the emigrates. if you want we can meet.
