Lucia Cellio

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Lucia Cellio

Post by tc_tick »

My grandmother and 2 uncles arrived between 1907 and 1910 (My mother says 1007 through Ellis Is) but I have not found any record of this. She joined her husband Loreto Biase Cellio who travelled back and forth to IT. His records I can find.

Lucia Cellio b 11 Oct 1886, maiden name DiTomaso from Bugnara
Children: Cristino Giocondo Cellio b 17 Dec 1904 in Bugnara
Olimpio Francesco Cellio b 27 May 1906 in Bugnara

I've looked at most of the records from this time frame of anyone traveling with small children but haven't found anything. Any ideas? Are there missing records from this time period?

:) Thanks Laura, I guess I just gave up too quickly. My mom seemed pretty sure about the time frame, but I guess the story got confused somewhere along the line. The 1920 census has her arrival as 1910, but I am sure that is just an estimate. My mom was born in 1916 and is still sharp as a tack. She just celebrated her 93rd birthday.

It didn't help that the index lists Cellio as Cellis and Di Tomaso as Di Conmato I should have found these except as I said, I stopped my ehaustive search at 1911.

Thanks again Laura.
