Website Design / HTML
Re: Website Design / HTML
You might find a better version (simply easier to read ... same content) ... on the Wiki, here: http://e-lore.com/wiki/Genealogy under Developing Genealogy Web-Pages

Oh yes..the wiki! I'll have a look.
Thanks Bob.
Thanks Bob.
Re: Website Design / HTML
Bob I bookmarked it and I played with it a bit. So far, so good.,,it seems to work. I have a question but I want to read more first to see if it provides the answers before I ask.
You had some links on that page too for the charts linked back to this site but they don't work anymore. I didn't have time to fix them..(I know, I know..I need to find the time and I promise I will) I really want to get in there and learn all this but you know me..I stall until I'm 100% sure of something before I try it.
I promise, if you yell at me, then tomorrow I will fix it, otherwise, I'll forget..I'm not as young as I used to be and my mind wanders..
Once again, thanks for taking the time to provide all this great info. Is it ok if I use the link to refer it to people on my web pages?

Interesting example you used, that's my family!rfornal wrote:Designing a Table
Let's start with a simple example, here's information from a 1930 US Federal Census Record:
Name: John Fornal
Home in 1930: Glastonbury, Hartford, Connecticut
Age: 42
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1888
BirthPlace: Poland
Relation to Head of House: Head
Spouses's Name: Victoria
Race: White
Parents' Birthplace: View Image
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
John Fornal 42
Victoria Fornal 40
Joseph Fornal 15
Stella Fornal 13
Annie Fornal 10
William Fornal 5
As you can see, each line breaks down into two items ... easy to convert to a table.
