Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

looking for Alessandro Pasqualino death records

Post by kalimero »

Hello there,
I'm looking to find information over the death of Alessandro Pasqualino, an italian immigrant, born in Italy on 17th March 1883.
From family member's stories he died in 1920, most probably in Kings (NY).
I found his Draft Registration Card WWI dated 12 Sept. 1918 where is written he was living in Kings, Carroll Street 616.
However I'm not able to find any other info on him.
He is not appearing in Ellis Island records nor in the Census records 1910/1915/1920
There's another sign of his presence in NY where on Ellis Island records I found his wife and child going to rejoin him in Nov.1911.
When he died his wife and 1 child returned in Italy while a second child, supposed to born in NY remained in US; His name should be Angelo.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks and Kind Regards

Hi,
I believe that Angelo back in USA, in Brooklyn, because I found a trip record:
New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 about Angelo Pasqualino
Name: Angelo Pasqualino
Arrival Date: 18 May 1931
Birth Date: 29 Oct 1912
Birth Location: New York
Birth Location Other: Brooklyn, New York
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: Conte Grande

back at home in 230 Hoyt st Brooklyn, New York

the surname changed in Pasqualini, here the death record:

NAME: Angelo Pasqualini
BIRTH: 29 Oct 1912
DEATH: 19 May 2002 - Flushing, Queens, New York, USA
CIVIL: New York

but it is hard to say if this Angelo is the same Angelo son of Alessandro Pasqualino and Rosa Santoli..

Suanj I believe you have the right Angelo Pasqualino/i
On ancestry.com the Owner: acarimati has the birth record of Alessandro Pasqualino Birth 17 Mar 1883 in Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, Avellino, Campania, Italy son of parents unknown on their marriage record but the user has his parents listed as Angelo Michele Santoli and Teresa Volpe perhaps you should contact the user on ancestry to see about the death maybe he went back to Italy
Angelo had a sister Teresa Pasqualino born in 1908 in Rocca San Felice, Avellino, Campania, Italy
Since the death records of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi and Rocca San Felice, Avellino, Campania, Italy only go to 1910 online you will have to write for the death record you seek if he went back to Italy

Dear Suanj,
I apologize for this late answer but my fault I didn't set to receive an email when post was updated.

I'm almost sure the Angelo Pasqualino you found is the right one.
I know it because the address 230 Hoyt correspond to his uncle's house building, as I found recently on the 1930 census.

Also, we found recently in an old box a package slip, where he signed as C.Pasqualini; I don't know yet why he signed with C., anyhow it confirms he changed the surname from Pasqualino to Pasqualini.

On the opposite I cannot confirm your findings about Alessandro although dates have pretty much coincidences.

I Thank you very much for your help, same I do to Marty
Thanks a lot guys
Alberto

I found Angelo on the old directory:
U.S. Public Records Index, Volume 2 about Angelo Pasqualini
Name: Angelo Pasqualini
Birth Date: 29 Sep 1912
Address: 5838 213th St, Flushing, NY, 11364-1828
and
U.S. Public Records Index, Volume 1 about Nancy S Pasqualini
Name: Nancy S Pasqualini
Birth Date: 28 Jun 1950
Address: 5838 213th St, Flushing, NY, 11364-1828 (1992)
maybe was the daughter or his daughter in law... because seeming very young for to be Angelo wife...
