Free family search!

Post by lcmor »

Hi, my name is Laura! I'm British, but I live in Abruzzo, Italy and have done for the last 10 years. I'm about to launch an Italian Family Search service mainly for people of Abruzzese and Molise origin. Before I 'go live' I would like to have a few case studies to profile on my website. In order to do this I'm offering a 4 generation family history search for FREE to 3 or 4 people. This will be based on a first come first serve basis and of course on the amount of initial information that you can provide about your ancestor. As a minimum I would be looking for a full name (including maiden names for women), an idea of their birthday within two to three years and specific city/town of origin. Or an exact birthday (including day & month) with some idea of the region from which your ancestor came. I'm preferably looking for people who's families originated in Abruzzo or Molise but will consider other applicants whose families came from further afield. At the end of the research you will be given a full report on your family history plus a family tree and any associated photos/documents that become available during the search. Please contact me directly if you are interested at: lcmorris@live.co.uk

Hi Laura, This sounds like a terrific idea. Unfortunately, I have already researched my family in Abruzzo and Molise. Perhaps you can assist me in one problem. I cannot find a record of the birth and marriage of Fortunato Santoro. He was born in Collepietro, L'Aquila, Abruzzo.I have found an extract of his father's death. It lists him as Pellegrino, but I cannot find his mother's name anywhere. A birth record will help with that. Fortunato was married to Domenica Zappone (I don't have the year of their marriage) and he died on March 23, 1807. I have written to the church of St. John the Baptist in Collepietro, and am hoping they will provide me with some information.
Maybe you can help me with this. I feel his birth should have been around 1740 and his marriage about 1775.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Laura and her team for all the work that was done on my family's genealogy. They were able to go back to my 5 times great grandparents.
I was sent a very concise report along with beautiful pictures of the areas around Molise.
I would highly recommend Laura if anyone is looking into their ancestry.

Laura was a huge help to me. With my primary research being completed online, I did not have to access to much of the records in Ortucchio; where my family is from.

Laura was awesome going to the commune building and retrieving birth and marriage records of my ancestors. Besides unlocking many of my great (multiple) grandparents, and great Aunts/Uncles, Laura shared an entire report with me containing copies of each document, what she learned, and also shared with me what life was like in Ortucchio during the 1700 and 1800s. All the questions that I had were answered and the fact finding that she provided was excellent. If there is one case study available, you would be a fool not to give Laura a try. We all know that these services can be quite pricey and even for a fee, you can expect results with Laura.

Hi!
I don't usually frequent this forum, but I too have benefitted from Laura's genealogical research into my family. She did an amazing job tracing my family back to the 1700's starting with the 4 that made the first journey across the Atlantic.

My family was not a simple one to research, we had a century-old mystery that fell into our laps and there was no one left alive who could shed any light. Specifically, my GGF and his brothers had entered one name for their mother on their marriage certificates in Canada, but their birth extracts from their commune showed an entirely different name. We couldn't make heads or tails of this. Enter: Laura, who quickly and concisely got to the bottom of the matter travelling up and down the Molise countryside. She sent us copies of the papers from the tribunal that ordered the name changed on the brothers' birth registration from the name she commonly went by to her name "at birth" and also found my GGGM's birth certificate from an entirely different commune showing that she was a foundling on the midwife's doorstep! The mystery was solved within 3 months of uncovering it! We could never have done this ourselves.

Interestingly enough, frankdamore, we also have roots in Ortucchio when we found out that my GGGGF left there and settled in the town that we always thought he had come from.

Laura was amazing at finding all this information because she ACTUALLY VISITS the ancestral communes, chats with the records officers, and explores the town. She keeps in constant contact and shares everything she finds as she finds it. The way she wrote about our ancestors really brought them to life, like she had actually met them, and she did it with such enthusiasm and excitement, you would think that they were her ancestors as well.

At the end, she provided a full report, with family relationships, copies of records that she found and photos and write ups of the ancestral towns. It is such a beautiful keepsake and can be shared with other extended family who may be interested in their roots as well.

I highly recommend giving Laura and From Abruzzo with Love, a try. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING LAURA!

Working with Laura was enriching and productive. I found her to be professional and hard working. She provided me with information I hadn't been able to find in years of research. She also updated me on her research every step of the way.
All in all my experience with Laura has been more than I expected.

Hi, I am searching for my Italian ancestors. Hoping you can help. My grandfather Pelligrino Tarantino is from the Benevento area. I already have some information on him, just needing his marriage information and information on his spouse, I beleive is Mary Louise Palmeiri. Also if I could get Pelligrino's parents and Mary Louise Palmeiri parents names and birth and death information would be so much appreciated. I am at a stand still not being able to find any information on them. I know Pelligrino arrived in America in 1899 arriving at Ellis Island and that's about as far as I can find anything. Thank you so much for this free site and the information you send.
