Genova, Falco, Sala / Geraci, Mulei

Post by Tonal »

Looking to find out information on these last names. They are all my Ancestors' names:
Genova is from Sant' Anna di Caltabollatto
Geraci is from Valledolmo
Mulei is from Villalba
Gagliano ?
Sala?

I would like to visit Sicily and these towns and wondering if I might have any relatives that remain in the towns or areas of these villages.

Paul Genova married Carmella Sala, Paul's father was Giuseppi Genova and he married Pelligrina Falco.
Paul's son was Joseph Genova, my grandfather.

Some help would be great.

Not sure how to Edit, but I meant to write Mule instead of Mulei.

http://en.comuni-italiani.it/index.html - Gives the address of every Italian town in Italy to write to for ancestor information. . Letters to Italy are 98 cents for one ounce (all you need). You should write to the Ufficio di Anagrafe at the City Hall address in each town to get the birth, death, and marriage records ('Ufficio di Anagrafe - Nascita, matrimonio, morte e Documenti ed estrarre’) as well as the Certificato di Stato di Famiglia Storico.
Use the Google translator to translate your requests in English to the Italian language. Reverse it when you receive a response from Italy.

If the records you need are in a church, these URLs can help you communicate to the right parish - www.chiesacattolica.it and www.parrocchie.it. Church records are in Latin. Parishes are under staffed and often do not respond.
