Photo studio from the 1890's

Post by Cathynap »

I am in possession of a photo of my grandfather's uncle in Italy. I have the back of the photo which shows the name and location of the studio in the city of Cosenza in Calabria. How can I find out more about this studio and if they have photograhic archives somewhere? Here is a link to the back of the photo:

Is this just a coincidence? Note the address. A cartoleria is a stationery store.

Gaudio Rossana Cartoleria Del Corso
87100 Cosenza (CS) - Corso Telesio Bernardino, 183

That is a wonderful find!!! Thank you so much. The property was probably passed down through the generations. Thank you very much. I will see if they know if the old photographs still exist there.

I am not getting my hopes up too much. They could have tossed all the photographs...then again, they might have them. I am lucky enough to have a friend in Italy who will call them. She called them already but they were closed for the weekend. I will find out on Moinday. Keep your fingers crossed for me. My dad needs some good news now.
