translation help please

Post by misschristi16 »

I have a few words that I need help with.

Copia Stampata dallo Studio G. Iacchini
Gia Folo Pais
Cilla di Castello
nell'anno 1966

I am trying to find where this photo was taken and am hoping the info on the back will lead me somewhere in my search.

Thanks.

Is it Villa di Castello? See the picture here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_di_Castello

Lots more pictures here: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&r ... CBsQsAQwAw

Taken in 1966 (but you knew that, didn't you).

I did know the 1966--that was the easy part.

Thank you for your help. I am hoping to get an idea where the Church is located in that town. My great grandfather used to go to this church, and I am hoping for a town or a name or something.

I will check out the photos.

thanks again!

Here is the picture if someone out there knows where this might have been taken.

The only info is what is printed on the back, and that could just be the photographers information, also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, wait a minute - how about Citta di Castello?

The town's web site is at http://www.comune.citta-di-castello.perugia.it

On this page are links to several photos http://www.comune.citta-di-castello.per ... t_town.asp

If the info is "printed", it may indicate that Citta di Castello is the location of G. (Giovanni? Giuseppe?) Iacchini's studio. The photo may or may not have been taken within the city limits.

If "cilla" is really "citta", then "folo" is most likely "foto"

I think "Gia Foto" would be akin to "stock photo" in English.

Where is Livio? :)

Could be Città di Castello (Perugia province)

Copy printed by the "Studio G. Iacchini"
previously known "Foto Pais"

We get RAI Italia on cable TV at our home. I have to say, some of it is quite odd. :)

A few days ago, I came across what seemed to be a very low-budget Italian version of America's "Deal or No Deal" (http://www.nbc.com/Deal_or_No_Deal/).

Very low budget... :!:

There are 38 churches listed for Citta di Castello (Perugia Province) by name and address at www.parrocchie.it and just put in the town name on the right side. If you know the name of the church and yhou will know the address you can go to www.mappy.com and put inthe address and find the street in the attached map. Just make sure you click ITALY in the upper left of the screen and just type inthe street address and town name. =Peter=

Just a heads up that the link is no longer working. Here's a working game http://www.crazygames.com/game/deal-or-no-deal

Enjoy! :D
