Marriage of Nicolo Aguanno & Catarina Vultaggio

Post by sacesta »

I'm looking for the marriage record of Nicolo Aguanno and his bride Catarina Vultaggio, married sometime before 1715.

I came across this entry (6 entry down) in the indices of the chiesa San Giuliano Martire which shows a Nicolo Aguanno and Catarina (surname not shown) at page 30.

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cat=730834

The page numbers at the upper right of each page are missing on many pages, but luckily, page 29 is clearly marked. The attached record should be the reverse side of page 30 on the left and page 31 on the right. There is an entry on the left, second record down, where I can see Catharina's (Catarina) name clearly, but I cannot discern the names Aguanno or Vultaggio anywhere on the record. It's a difficult read, but I'm reasonably sure this is the record I'm looking for.

Can you help me confirm that I have the correct record and help me with the translation?

Thanks,
Steve

Looking at this record again, I see now that the married couples' names are listed at the top of each record. This record is for a Rocco someone - not my ancestor.

I could still use help locating this record. It doesn't seem to be on page 30 as the index indicates.

Thanks,

Steve

I found them in the records of San Silvestro Papa. Record dated 12 Oct 1710. Banns on the 28th and 29th of September 1710. No impediments.

Looks like the parents of the groom are Vito Aguanno and Marta ???

And the parents of the bride are Rocco Vultaggio and Bartolomia?? (maiden names not divulged?)

Witnesses Antonio Craparotta and Josepha Guastella?

Yes, you are right, names are correct, and maiden names of mothers are not mentioned. I read witness's name as Joseph (a male). Fathers of the spouses were both deceased.
