Difficult read: Marriage of Giovanni Lombardo & Maria

Post by sacesta »

I'm not 100% certain this is the marriage record of my ancestor Giovanni Lombardo. Looking for some help reading this.

The date appears to be the 23rd of Nov 1650. There were no legitimate impediments to this marriage.

The bride's given name appears to be Maria, but I'm not sure of the surname. Crescenti maybe?

Not sure of the groom's parents names. Paolo Lombardo maybe? And Tomassa? Or Joanna? Although the first letter is not formed like other capital "J"s in the record. I'm also unsure of where the groom's mother is from. Terra Tripi?

The bride's father appears to be Joseph, but again, I'm unsure of the surname. Her mother's name is illegible to me.

Also unsure of the witnesses to this marriage, though the name Joseph stands out and his surname appears to be something like Castellano.

Record is at top left.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Steve
You're very welcome. Some of these records are just getting way too difficult to decipher accurately.
