What does this word mean....

In reference to an occupation what is a "culserato"? The spelling may not be exact.

what document is this badly mispelled word found?? There is nothing close to that name something is wrong here. Peter

Column 6...Calling or occupation (culserato)

The entire manifest ghas the same word CULTIVATOR for most of the passengers. I am surprised you did not see the same word above and below Pietro's entry at NYC. Apparently cultivator is the word they used for farmer. Peter

You are right, of course, Peter....it is so clear once you understand what you are looking at! I should have realized the occupations listed were all English words not Italian. A good lesson in reading documents...look for all similar words for content and comparison. Thanks.. :D
