A Town I Cannot Find
I am researching the Italian part of my family and I have info on my GGGF Guiseppe Cresci - application for a US Passport, but the town he claims to have been born in does not exist, as far as I have been able to look, or maybe I am reading something wrong. The town looks like "Roudousei" or "Rondonsi." I have search variation of this but find nothing. We believe he came from the the province of Liguria. We are wondering if this place even exists anymore - maybe the name changed or he wrote it in a dialect. He was born in 1849.
Re: A Town I Cannot Find

Re: A Town I Cannot Find
A search for Cresci shows a few still residing in Rondanina, Provincia di Genova, Regione Liguria
There are many more Crescis in other towns. Enter Cresci here (as cognome) to see for yourself:

When did he immigrate?
You might be able to get a home town from the Ellis Island manifests (if he arrived 1892 or later).
Older Castle Garden manifests have limited info.
Buona fortuna!
