I can find no military records for him. I sent for his naturalization papers but all it says is that he is from Italy. Any suggestions on ...

Re: Montecorvinio Rovella
Thanks for sharing the website. I especially like the live webcam. I sent the link to my Mom to show her the city her madre was born in. Has anyone visited Montercorvino Rovella? When we go is there things we should definitely try to see?

John, it looks lovely. I take it that you have stayed there before? Is it expensive? Would I fly into Naples and rent a car?

Minori vs. Maori?
Can someone tell me the difference between Minori and Maori? I have documents that say both. Also the difference between Montercorvino Rovello and Montecorvino Pugliano?

Re: Italy Census
So to your point on the church records, if I know the church the family belonged to should I write a letter? Any suggestions for what I should include? Should I write it in Italian?

Re: Death certificate
Any idea what church if any he may have attended in Boston? I had very good luck wrting to my grandmothers church. They gave me her date of death and the day she was baptised. I am sure there is a library that must house Boston city directories for that time period as well.

Italian to American names
I understand that when many Italians came to the US they americanized their given names such as Guisseppe to Joseph and Nicola to Nicholas. Does anyone know why someone would go from Salvatore to Charles?
