If anyone has written the Stato Civile in Italy reguarding family info couldyou tell me how long it took to get a response.....or if you even got one.

I just thought I would let you know that I have searched for both of my parents (death dates 1981 and 2003) and have not found either of them on the websites. Writing in like Peter said is probably your best bet.

I would love to learn more about Italy, have any ideas on books I could read? Im glad I stuck something in the envelope, at least for their time. I have heard that Italians are not interested in genealogy. What are your thoughts on that? I hope if I find any living relatives they would be interested ...

I have just printed up several of the form letters from the website you gave me. Do you know what I will learn from the family certificate?

Peter, We are about 20 minutes North of Watertown or 1 1/2 North of Syracuse. I found a site that translated my English into Italian for the families I sent letters to today. I hope they will be able to understand what I said!

Peter, I would like to know how to find the addresses to the places where I am sending the letters too. Do you think the family certif would be more helpful than one persons birth certif? Should I just do both? Sorry to bug you.
