Re: Cavaliere and Tricarico surnames in San Mauro Forte

Hi Vic,

It's been a while since this post but I hope the original poster is still around.

I have direct lineage to Tricarico, Cavaliere and Imperatore in my tree.

I would love to compare notes.

Kind regards

Re: Looking for Tricaricos from San Mauro Forte

Dear Heggar,

The Rosaria Tricarico in your tree (born 28 Dec 1870) is my great grandmother! If her parents that you have a marriage certificate for, are Michele Tricarico and Clemenzia Lacovara, then this is definitely my lineage.

I hope to hear back from you.

Kind regards,

Michael

Re: Last name

Hi there,

What kind of information are you trying to find out about your relatives? My mum's surname is Distefano and was born in SMF. My uncle (mum's brother) still lives there.

I also have Lacovara in my family tree.

Regards

Re: Surname Lacovara, from San Mauro Forte

Hi Heggar, This may well be of interest/relevance to you. I live in London, England and both my parents were born in San Mauro Forte. In my family tree are a Clemenzia Lacovara my gg grandmother (born about 1840), and her father Giuseppe, my ggg grandfather (born about 1815). You'll also find that a...

Re: Parish Records from San Mauro Forte

Hi Mary,

Did you try contacting the Mayor? (Il Sindaco Sig. Diluca). I've been told that the only way to get permission to church records is through him.

Good luck!

Re: Lapetina and Bisaccia relatives

Hi again, Just thought i'd post you this link of one Antonio Bisaccia, born in San Mauro Forte in 1947. He's posted a message on a website (albeit nearly four years ago) and there is an email address with it. It might be worth trying to get in contact if the email account is still active??? http://w...

My italian roots are totally San Mauro Forte (I was born in England) and my cousin (born in San Mauro but now lives in England) tells me that you first need to obtain permission from Il Sindaco (Sig. Diluca) before anyo...

Re: Researching DiBlasi (San Mauro) and Merola (Centola)

Hi Ken, I'm also researching San Mauro Forte, Matera and I too have Dibiase in my tree. Please note the slight spelling difference. It would have been easy to have the name mispelt at Ellis Island. Try some new searches spelt DIBIASE. I believe a Dibiase family still live in San Mauro Forte. My pate...
