Re: Passengers/Census arrived in NY between 1851 and 1991
Thank you so much Debbie, I edited my previous message to make it a bit more accurate, I live in the west coast so New Jersey is not near to me. I was just thinking if there is any way to locate Francesco Brando (or Frank Branda) in a ship manifest of ships reaching new york between 1876 and 1880. T...

Re: Passengers/Census arrived in NY between 1851 and 1991
Deb: I do not have enough words to thank you for your help. One reason makes me think that it is not the same dominick brando son of Guiseppe Brando, but might be a Dominic Brando son of really Paulina and Frangesko Brando (Frank Branda when they mispelled it) is that in a ship manifest which reach ...

Re: Passengers/Census arrived in NY between 1851 and 1991
Deb, thanks so much, the more I read regarding Frank Branda the more I think he is the one who was living with his brother: Guiseppe Brando in the 1880 New York Manhattan census (and then in the naturalization papers they must have mispelled Brando for Branda, and he changed Frangesko for Frank). I ...

Re: Passengers/Census arrived in NY between 1851 and 1991
Thank you so much Deb. I guess that they all moved out of New York since they do not appear in the NY death records. I wonder if I could find any information on line regarding other census: 1900 -1910-1920 (by this time Fragesko was 65 so do not think that any later census makes sense). I found at t...

Re: Passengers/Census arrived in NY between 1851 and 1991
MFJP; Thanks for your reply, I haven't found any census besides that one that looks like they are them. I know for a fact that Giuseppe arrived in US (most likely he departed from Napoli and arrived in New York) before 1880 and I also know that he departed to South America before 1882 (I think he de...

Re: Passengers/Census arrived in NY between 1851 and 1991
Thank you so much! Definetely sounds like this one: 1880 Census Guiseppe BRANDO -wife Rosa BRANDO- New York (Manhattan), New York City-Greater, NY <1843> ITALY Self I just don't know from this info how could I locate his ship, so that from the ship manifest I would know where he was from. The only f...

Re: Please translate......
Well then, I hope somebody translates your letter so that you could obtain the BCs and at the same time sound friendly to the Anagrafe's employee which receives it and has to anyway find your BC and mail it, so that ultimately you could get your BCs at home and then contact the Consulate for all the...

Re: Please translate......
This is what you wrote in your letter "...I am an American, and I would very much like to become an Italian citizen; however, in order to do this, I must obtain official copies of my great-grandparents' birth certificates..." you are not doing this to get your italian citizenship and resid...

Re: Please translate......
From the comune you want the birth certificates only, what I wrote is the way they want to read it, you need to contact the consulate for the other things.
