Well this is about the right year of birth for my grandmother although the census has 1873. But her mother is listed as Anna Vendito on one census and Anna Marano on the other. Ok I sent an email to comune.vinchiaturo.cb.it I sent an english translation then translated it in Italian using Babel Fish. Gosh aren't ya all proud of me LOL. Seems I am learning so much here. Thanks again CQ

I received my Father's birth certificate today and boy did I get a surprise. I always knew him by Anthony Joseph Nero. Well certificate says:

My family were also italian and coal miners. Normally they had to be sponsored to come over. You will usually find the male coming over as a border first and then sending for his family. I used the census and this board (which has been awsome) also Penna has a website http://www.usgenweb.org ...

Ya All are true Masters. I am so much in your debt. I have been searching the libraries. Ship's manifests and everthing else I can get my hands on. I am legally blind so this makes things a little harder I have to bring what I find home from the libraries and put it under magnification.
