Re: Do you have family from Montemiletto?

How wonderful! We don't have any direct family left there as far as we know, but my grandmother, Finicola (Fannie) Censale was born there in 1911. Her father Dominic had relatives and we have photos of my great-aunt with people labeled something like "Pop's sister's son" or with a person's name and ...

Re: researchers in lapio avellino 1814-1834

My grandfather's grandmother was Carmina Carbone from Lapio b. 1858 to Raffaele Carbone and Carmella Crossella. Do you have any other information on the family?

Re: Help finding church/church records

I have tried Google but the family name is very unusual. I've also searched Family Search and Ancestry. We have a lot of information from my great-aunt and grandmother but not the name of the church. Thanks for all your help. We'll keep looking.

Re: Help finding church/church records

Thanks everyone. My dad can speak Italian. We know where my grandmother's family lived but it was outside the village. The house was destroyed in an earthquake but my uncle and cousin found someone to show him where it was. I'll forward the information to my dad to read and see if anything rings a ...

Help finding church/church records

My parents are traveling to Italy and out of curiosity they want to see the church and possibly look at some records in Montemiletto. We don't know which church my grandmother's family attended. We have her birth certificate but not baptismal. She's never mentioned it and is likely beyond ...

Re: Do you have family from Montemiletto?

I, too, have family from Montemiletto. My family includes Capones and Ciarlas. I also have Todesca family from Torre. One of my great-grands was Saveria Brogna. Saveria's parents were Tomasso and Chiara (d'Auria) Brogna. Would love to hear from anyone with info on the Montemiletto side.

Re: Lapio

Just to update. Thanks to Gary and April we're making good progress on the Alario family tree! My parents are going to Southern Italy next fall and promise to look up the gaps in the family tree. Thanks everyone for your help.

Re: Do you have family from Montemiletto?

My grandmother was born in Montemiletto. Her maiden name is Censale and her mother's maiden name is Fiorentino. Her father had an uncle named Antonio Capone and a cousin named Francesco Capone who lived in Boston in the early 1900s. Her father had a few siblings and cousins but I don't know more ...

Re: searching for family

Could be. We're connected to the Capones but I'm not sure how closely.

Re: Lapio

Thanks for the information. I found a passenger list record on Ancestry.com that shows GraziAntonio (Orazio) and his wife and son Genaro arriving in Boston in 1912. It sounds like my great-great grandfather came back and forth a few times.

My uncle and cousin went to Lapio a month ago and they ...

If Lina's name is spelled Lina... then she COULD have been named after my great-great grandmother, whose name was Pasqualina, known as Lina. My grandmother is 94, so her memory isn't the best and she could totally have her facts mixed up. I have to remember e-mail my great-aunt and see what SHE ...

Re: Lapio

Thanks. I knew about the family history centers and microfilms but since I don't have money, it's up to my dad to do something and he doesn't seem too interested in his father's family unfortunately. If anyone here knows any Alarios still living in Lapio or is descended from any Alarios from Lapio ...

My great-great grandmother was his wet nurse! He was born in Montimiletto, Avellino. He moved to NY but never forgot my great-great grandmother and her family. He had two children, a son died in service and a daughter, Lena who was about the same age as my great-aunt (b. 1928). My grandmother wants ...

Lapio

I am researching information on my grandfather's family the Alarios from Lapio. I know his father's name was Carlo and his mother was Conchetta. (I'll look up dates and post again later). They settled in Fitchburg, MA and had two sons- Joe in 1911 and Tony (my grandfather) in 1919. Carlo's father's ...
