Re: Petruso/Salvia - Palermo Region

Wow, how cool to get a reply to this board after so long! I knew that there were some Petruso's in the UK, but had never been able to fit you into the tree! I wonder who your Nonno's father was? ...I bet he was a brother (or possibly a nephew) to my great grandfather Francesco. As you can see from ...

Re: Marriage Records

Hi Joe,

I know this is an old post-I hope you found the marriage record you needed. I got dual citizenship at the Philadelphia consulate a little over a year ago. I had a similar situation. My g-grandparents were married in NYC, but I was never able to obtain their marriage record, the city did not ...

Re: Petruso/Salvia - Palermo Region

Hi Dominic, welcome!

I not sure where you fit into the Petruso family tree. Is your grandfather from Borgetto? Where in the USA did your family settle? I (along with moneyman2010mn) probably know more about the Petrusos than most, so please ask away. I'll help however I can.

Cheers,
Stephanie

Re: Dilluvio/Delisi family

Thank you! That would be great. I know Marianna came over with some other relatives who all eventually settled in Meadville, PA. It must have been the other "happening place" for people from Borgetto, because we have Randazzo's there too! (Though I don't know any personally). Sadly, Marianna died at ...

Re: Dilluvio/Delisi family

My family is from Borgetto too. I'm interested in finding out more about the Petruso and Frisina families from that town. If anyone has any connection, I'd love to hear. My great-grandfather, Francesco, came to NYC in 1903, and his soon to be wife Marianna Frisina came over in 1906. My great ...

Re: Petruso/Salvia - Palermo Region

Ha! That's funny! I probably haven't done enough in life for people to have "heard of me." I'll bet she's heard of my dad and Aunt Sandy, though. They were born and raised in Meadville and knew everyone there. My little bit of the family has been in Erie since before I was born.

P.S. Please don't ...

Re: Petruso/Salvia - Palermo Region

I don't know who they are. Domenico is currently where my research stops...I don't need to go back any farther to apply for citizenship. I'm sure those records are in the Stato Civile in Borgetto, but I'm unsure of how to get ask for the right ones (we don't have a lot of info). I'll keep you ...

Re: Petruso/Salvia - Palermo Region

I did just look at the birth record for Francesco Petruso again. No birthdate is provided for Domenico Petruso or for Maddalena Vicari, but their address in 1879 was:

la Via Giglio, 25
Borgetto

Don't know if that'll be any help or not, but it's something.

I'm hoping to visit Borgetto this summer ...

Re: Petruso/Salvia - Palermo Region

Hi, we've talked before, but I can't remember if we emailed about this or not. I wrote to Borgetto requesting birth records in Italian...there is a form letter in a book called Discovering Your Italian Ancestors by Lynn Nelson. My library had a copy, your's probably does to. The above address for ...
