Are there passenger lists of immigrants to South America from 1860 +. my Pettoni family were from northern Italy, and it is thought that they were living in Argentina sometime . Which city did the Italians mainly settle Where would I find the census Thanks for help.

Are there places where birth ,death and marriage records are held in the regions of Lombardy and Latina and liguria.
it is possible that this family of Lucia Pettoni and Charles Reader went to South Africa sometime in the late 1800s.

I have read an article about Italians immigrating to South Africa in the early 1800s . many also went to Argentina. Would there be shipping records anywhere that would give passengers names.

Lucia Pettoni was born in Italy,probably in the north of Italy around 1870. She married Charles Reader ,but we don't know where or when. We are hoping that there may be some Pettoni family somewhere that is missing Lucia from there tree and we can exchange family information. Would like to hear from...
