Domenica Vernovai??? (need another set of eyes)

I can't make that out, even with the second image. It's not a name that I recognize as being from Avigliano, might take a while to figure out exactly what it is. Thanks again, Marty - you certainly have a talent for navigating the old dockets!

Re: Help with a birth certificate, please?

Question what do you expect to find with the family certificate? Thanks, Marty. Actually, I probably do not need the Stato now - the family always said there were three brothers, so finding the long lost Pietrantonio was really what I was after. It's interesting that his name does not appear again ...

Re: Help with a birth certificate, please?

Marty, that's great! Who is Margarita Giordano - Vita's mother or Domenico's? I have a couple more matches if you don't mind taking a look and translating the birth dates, should all be children of Domenico:

#267 of 1849 Vito Summa
#627 of 1851 Margarita
#472 of 1854 Maria G.

Thanks!

Re: Help with a birth certificate, please?

Thanks, Marty. Pietro is a surprise, that name has not repeated down the line.

Help with a birth certificate, please?

Hello, can someone help with a birth certificate? I have gotten good at finding them, just not too good at reading them. haha It should be for Marco Summa, #666 of 1847, Avigliano, Potenza. Parents should be Domenico Summa and Vita Crescenzia Colangelo. Need Marco's birth date and any info about the...

Re: Question on ordering Stato di Famiglia

And I just want to ask to make sure I have it right, they should provide the names of the parents, siblings and children of the person that I ask for, correct? It's the siblings that I'm really after. Or, since this person was married with a family of his own, do I ask for the father's stato? Thanks

Re: Question on ordering Stato di Famiglia

I just checked and there are, amazingly, two Western Union locations in town so I will see if they will go for that. And no, I don't need anything official but I do have to remember to ask for a copy of the actual entry because they usually list the family nick name as well.

Re: Question on ordering Stato di Famiglia

Ok, thanks. I have no idea how many people they are going to find in the household so I guess there will have to be some communication back and forth.

Question on ordering Stato di Famiglia

Hello, it looks like I might finally make some headway in getting a Stato that I have been after for a while. Can someone please translate the comment below so I know what they are requesting from me? I figured out rough translation but I am getting hung up on a couple words and how they should be u...

Re: What can you tell me about "Ninco Nanco"?

Does anyone have something new to share on this? I haven't been able to get a Stato from Avigliano for my Summa ancestors despite several attempts so I am at a standstill. Thanks

Re: How to find out where ancestor's are buried?

Depending on the area and the date of death, you might not find anything. In some places they recycle the plots after about 70 years. What else can you do in areas that have been heavily populated for over 2000 years?
