Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
I think I've found Patrick in the SSDI: Born january 29. 1898, dead august 1982. (SS number: 082-28-7451), 11234 Brooklyn, Kings, New York. That is very close to where John and Margaret lived, and it is likely that they had contact. I wonder if it's possible to trace down any of Patrick's children. ...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Incredible work here. After what you've found I think this Sottile family consisted of the following members: Anthony and Rose Children: Gabriele, born ca 1890 Theresina, born ca. 1895 Pasquale/Patrick, born ca. 1898 Giovanni/John, born ca. 1902 (married to Henrik ...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Pink67: The family you found in the 1930 census surely is the right one! I'd misread Anthony's death certificate. His adress was not Nostrand avenue (that was the adress of his son John in 1947). Anthony's address was 6024 St. Felix Avenue, the same adress as is written on the census sheet! However ...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
And in that case they would also be living at Nostrand avenue in the 1920 census. Maybe even in the 1910 census.

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Thank you very much for the 1930 census images. Antony and Tressa are surely the right ones, even though Nathan/Nathley seems to be a girl... But I don't think the Sollie-family is the right one. Actually I just remember that Anthony's death certificate said he had been living at his last adress for...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
In the 1920 census Teresinaa (Tessie) is living with her husband Anthony Rizzuto at (Stendale Evergreen???) in Queens. She is naturalized, and they have two children Angelina (born about 1916) and Nathan (born about 1917). Her brothers Pasquale (Patsy???) and John are living in the same house, and A...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
I've just found out that when the Sottile family emigrated to New York with the König Albert on june 1. 1906, John Sottile had a brother Pasquale (born 1898) and a sister Teresina (born 1895). One Pasquale Sottile marries in Brooklyn on april 28. 1921 according to the databases on www.italiangen.or...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Further contact with Helen Sottile has been aborted by the funeral home, as they can't spend time on non business communication. And understandably they wont hand out personal contact information. So therefor: Does anyone know about a Helen Sottile, who married Anthony Sottile in 1981, probably in t...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Another piece of information: The death certificate of John R. Sottile's father, Anthony Sottile Sr. reveals that John R. and Margaret Sottile lived at 551 Nostrand Avenue in 1947.

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Thank you for all your suggestions. Tamberino: I have tried Newsday, unfortunately I didn't get any hits on "my" Sottiles. I will try the Massapequa Sottiles in the phone book if everything else fails, but I have contacted the funeral home that arranged Anthony Sottile's funeral. They cont...

Re: NY Sottile family might be related to author Henrik Ibse
Thanks again. I have been in contact with these papers, but only Massapequa Post replied (unfortunately they found nothing), so now I've sent the Observer another email. Hopefully they'll answer this time. Do you know of any papers for the Rockaway Beach area (I know of the Wave), that might have pr...
