Re: calderoni search

Yes, thank you. I have been able to get the family records from Casazza. I am currently trying to learn Italian so I can go further back in my search.

meaning of the name Sanita

My question is: could this be her real name or were they implying something?? I know she died at a very young age, if that has anything to do with ...

Re: Ancestry lookup. please.

Wildspirit, thank you. Being that I could only read her name, could you tell me if they mention her mother, father or children?? I did see a Guiseppe, but I think that was her spouse. Any help is always appreciated.

Re: ancestry volunteers get access to images they index

Well, I was hit hard too. I cannot get in. I was at 822 records and ready to get to 900 so I can peek, but no longer. I think it might have something to do w/ the system requirements as my computer no longer reaches what it is asking for. They may have asked for a pentium 4 all along, but my AMD ...

Re: update Italian Civil Records at ancestry. com

Thank you Peter. I was a little confused about comunes/hamlets etc. Also, my post was for anybody who had ancestry if they could look up my ggf's as it seems there is info now out there, for at least the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province and hopefully soon for Bergamo.

Thanks,

Catherine

Re: What we were taught in school

I have to pipe in here as the devils advocate. please dont hate me. On the same token I hate it when things are in both English and Spanish. English is the national language at the moment. I hate that my parents didnt teach us Italian and we were VERY American but I also see many immigrants both ...

Re: salami....

I think I found it. It is called dry salami. It is in the style of Piedmont. Made famous in San Fran and thats probably why I cant find it anywhere else. Yet another thing I miss (sourdough is number one). And out here they dont have coppa, only capicola, which isnt the same.

But, out here I have ...
