Re: Mirabella Family
Hey guys,
Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I've been doing some research and found a man named Salvatore Mirabelli (born in 1865 in Cassano allo Ionio, Calabria) who I think might be Giuseppe & Battista's brother. Can anyone find any other info on him or possibly link him as a brother. I ...

Help with Italian city name!
Hey guys, I need some help in deciphering the name of the town my ancestors came from.
My ancestors are the Mirabellas - listed on the attached manifest. If someone could help decipher the town name (place of origin) listed alongside their names, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much,
Nick

Hi Ebyrnes,
Its so great to hear from you! Since Giuseppe & Angelina's daughter Giovannina was born in Fiumefreddo Bruzio, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy; I would also assume that her parents were born there as well. Where were your Marcellinos from? Giuseppe had a son Domenico, so it was a family name ...

Re: Castagna - Sarnelli Family
Wow Tessa, thanks for all this info. It has to be correct, everything fits together perfectly. The last part about Antonio, although some of it may have seemed doubtful, sounds for the most part accurate - considering his son's name is Lorenzo, and he was from Pratola Serra. Thanks so much for that ...

Re: Castagna - Sarnelli Family
I just found out that Carmine Sarnelli's parents were Lorenzo Sarnelli & Teresa Giordano, and that he was born in Pratola Serra, Avellino, Italy, if that can help any more.
Also he had another son Biaggio, born 1914 in New Jersey - I found a 1920 census, I wasnt able to view the photo though, where ...

Re: Castagna - Sarnelli Family
It is a shame that there isnt a lot of info, but Im glad there's something. :) Thanks. By the way, do you think its possible Carmine & Thomas Castagna are the same people? They are never on any censuses together; Thomas says he was born in Italy, but he didnt immigrate with his mother and brothers ...
