I need an email address for the city of Reitano, Sicily--a town just south of Santo Stefano Di Camastra. I wrote to the Santo Stefano, and they told me to write to City of Reitano, but didn't give a contact address.
Thanks

how to write for record requests
I recently sent an email to santo stefano--an email address given by Carmine and the email bounced back. Maybe the email is wrong or has changed. So, I'm going to write a letter. Should I try writing a physical letter now?--and if so how much should I expect to pay. How does that all work? Thank you...

Re: please help me find my lost grandma--Stefana Castagna
To Carmine; I have a hand written document that Eduardo and Concetta carried with them in 1920 when they came to the US as teens--stating that Angelo Presti, their father would be finacially responsible for them in the US. It states that Eduardo was born in Reitano which is a small town south of St....

Yes, I agree. I'll try to access ancestry at my local family history center.
Besides that, in Santo Stefano di Camastra, where would I look for birth records? Civil municipales, catholic churches?

Re: please help me find my lost grandma--Stefana Castagna
She is probably looking for her grandmother like I am.
In Santo Stefano di Camastra, where would I look to try to find her birth or something about her parents?

Re: please help me find my lost grandma--Stefana Castagna
I know for certain that Edward was son of Stefania and brother to Concetta my grandmother. Filomena was Edward's wife. They did live in Florida until their deaths. Edward was my dad's uncle. Years ago, I had a friend try to help me and found on a 1930 census, Edward and Filomena (Nancy) in the house...

Re: please help me find my lost grandma--Stefana Castagna
To johnnyonthespot and bette, thanks. I had already found both of those records. The 1920 census states that she entered the US in 1908--this cannot be her because she came in 1909 with her two kids, was deported,(because her husband didn't come to pick them up), went back to sicily, left her childr...

Re: please help me find my lost grandma--Stefana Castagna
Sorry, I miss spelled the first time. Her maiden name was Castagna. Her married name was Presti. After being deported, she abandoned her two children--Edward DOB 1905 and Concetta-my grandmother, born in 1907. The kids came to the US on their own to live with their dad in NYC in 1920. I believe that...

please help me find my lost grandma--Stefana Castagna
According to our records, which is from oral tradition, Stefana Castagna was born 19 March 1878 in St. Stefano Di Camastra, Messina, Sicily. She came to Ellis Island in 1909 and was deported--she came back to the US, but there is no other record of her. Her first child was born in Reitano, Messina, ...
