Re: Death Records in Italy?
Thank you so much for all the info. But the problem is, I can't read or write in Italian. What to do? If you are confident that he returned to Sturno and remained there, you can write the comune and request his death certificate, as well as his birth and marriage certificates while you are at it ...

Death Records in Italy?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best and easiest way to find the death record of my Great Grandfather Lorenzo Belfiore. He was from Sturno. I show him coming to America in 1903. I believe that he went back to Sturno right after that because his daughter was born. There is no record of ...

Re: I need help! I can't figure this out.
Just a quick note: In doing my research on my family in Sturno and Glen Cove LI. I went on Google Earth and was looking at the town. What did I see? A street named GLEN COVE. No joke. So did they come to Glen Cove LI because it was a familiar name? or Did they name that street because so many people ...

Re: I need help! I can't figure this out.
I have a Micheal Famiglietti in my family. My Grandmother Carmella Famiglietti had a brother with that name. She and her parents came here from Sturno to Glen Cove LI. Although Micheal's wife's name was Nunzia not Angela, it could still be family. I can't trace down my grandmothers parents. Maybe ...

Re: Leaving the country
I do have the birth record for his last daughter. Her name was Maria Carpinella Belfiore. She was born in Sturno Italy on Dec. 15, 1903. The birth was reported by a mid wife. because her father was absent. It is quoted in the record that he could not report the birth himself because he finds himself ...

Leaving the country
I know you can find passenger records coming into the US. But what about if they left and went back to Italy? My great grandfather came over in 1903 from Sturno Italy. Then he disappears. I think he went back because his daughter was born in the same year. How can I find out? His name was Lorenzo ...
