How do you get access to the records you showed me for Mormanno and Santa Domenica Talao? I have tried searching in familysearch.org for these but have been unsuccessful.

Re: De Cristoforo from Mormanno, Cosenza and Nice, France
In the record you found for Matilde De Cristoforo, I think it says she was born on the 20th (venti) of January, but you wrote the 16th. I noticed you did this for the other birth records as well. Is there something I'm missing, is the date of the recording on the top line next to the year not the ...

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This gives me so much to go on, and I can relate this information to Orazio's grand-daughter.

Re: De Cristoforo from Mormanno, Cosenza and Nice, France
The only official record I have is the U.S. naturalization record for Orazio De Cristoforo and the Italian marriage record for Orazio and Rufina Maria Trinchitella. I have tried searching for De Cristoforo's in Nice where the other brothers supposedly emigrated to, but no luck making any connection.

I forgot to add that on Orazio's marriage certificate, his mother is listed as coming from Santa Domenica Talao.

Connection between Maglione and Gesualdo family's
Hello,
I am trying to find a connection between the Maglione and Gesualdo families. I found a record at the "Families of Savignano di Puglia, Italy" website that listed a Vittoria Gesualdo (1857-1933) married to Leonardo Maglione (1852-1920). Vittoria is the daughter of Francesco Gesualdo (1834-1875 ...

Re: Salera in Marsicovetere: birth record shows adoption?
Interesting, was it common to record a birth/baptism in another country? I am not seeing many of those in the birth records overall. What is the importance/benefit to the family for doing that? I am assuming that the parents, Francesco Salera and Antonia Campiglia, were living in Pittsburgh where ...

Salera in Marsicovetere: birth record shows adoption?
I came across a birth record of one of my ancestors, but I can't tell if it is a legal guardianship appointed to a brother because the parents are dead, or an adoption.
The birth record for Giovanni Salera is attached. The information in this record may solve the question of whether or not this is ...

Re: Land ownership records for Marsico Vetere, Pecci family
Thank you for making me see what is right in front of me. Someone in this forum provided me with a scanned copy of the marriage certificate between Michele and Rosina, which states Michele was a cabinet maker. I am depending on the translation from Italian. See my post/replies titled "Josephine ...

Hello, your post caught my eye, and even though it's been a while I hope you see this reply. I have been doing genealogical research for my husbands family, trying to find a photo of Josephine Pecci. While looking at records I kept finding references to musicians in the family, Pecci's and Salera's ...

Re: Josephine Pecci from Tramutola, Potenza, Basilicata, Ita
Thank you, thank you! What a wonderful, pertinent, and generous response everyone has provided. My mother-in-law now knows about 3 uncles and an aunt, plus some first cousins she had no idea of before. I will definitely follow-up on the inquiry in Italy, and still hoping that I can find a photograph ...
