Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
Hi everyone! Just something I want to share with anyone thinking about retaining Luigi Paiano. In some occasions, and other forums, I have read that Luigi has taken a little too long to respond to some people. - That has NOT been the case with me. He has almost always gotten back to me in a couple ...

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
Hi everyone! After some extremely painful hair pulling dealing with bureaucratic delays from the government of Venezuela, they finally issued 2 needed apostilles to 2 remaining marriage certificates that were needed. Today, Luigi has informed me that the first of two processes has been filed with t...

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
@Karin It's illegal to apostille documents 'as a bundle'. Whoever told you that has absolutely no clue what they're doing and should be fired.

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
Hi Queue. Let's see: Appeals waiting period is six months. After that Luigi requests the copies from the court and that takes about 3 weeks to a month. Before that period is over, Luigi talks to your Comune (which Comune is it? Northern ones tend to be much more helpful than Southern ones, from what...

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
@mauro - The registration of your documents in your Comune (I hate it when I read the word "commune" in forums) allows you to request an italian birth certificate (atto di nascità) which you must deliver to your Consulate in order to be registered in the AIRE (Anagrafe degli Italiani Al Es...

Dojo, your sentenza has already been published. Ask Luigi via e-mail to check on it and send it to you.

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
Greetings from San Giovanni Teatino. Just got my Carta d'Identità yesterday, plus my Certificato di Cittadinanza and my Estratto per Riassunto di Atto di Nascità. All thanks to the fact that the Sentenza actually declares me a cittadino italiano, allowing me to skip a large part of the residenza pro...

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
After almost a full year since my first audience was set, i can now declare success! My birth certificate, along with the sentenza, has been transcribed. Going through the Anagrafe (and a close friend of the family who worked in the Comune di San Giovanni Teatino until his retirement last year) in S...

Death certificates are not necessary in 1948 cases. Minor spelling mistakes aren't a problem either. Wrong names, though...

Re: Dual Citizenship and the 1948 Rule
Thanks so much, Manu!!! I wish it wasn't so much $$$ to do this. But it looks like Italy is in no hurry to amend their discriminatory and unconstitutional laws :( -Tom in Scranton, PA USA It's not that expensive depending on the lawyer, tbh. The main reason Italy seems not to be really interested i...
