San Francisco Marriage Cert before 1906
How does one go about getting vital records from San Francisco before 1906? It seems that almost all vital records before the fires and earthquake of 1906 are destroyed and I need a marriage cert from around 1898.

Re: Help with possible birth and marriage location
I know his mothers name was filomanna and according to census records they both claim to have immigrated to the US in 1881. It's possible they could have returned to italy and came back again in 1890 to bring other family back?

Re: Help with possible birth and marriage location
Now I just need to find out where louis/luigi fabrizio was born. I know he was born around 1875 and came to the US around 1881. Hopefully when I find his and Mary's marriage certificate it will help.

Re: Help with possible birth and marriage location
You're good at this...haha. I'd rather cross these two off my list than chase after the wrong documents. I think my first step will be to attain her death certificate from Elmira and see what her name was on there. I wonder if her parents moved back to Italy, because I don't see them anywhere else ...

Re: Help with possible birth and marriage location
I would imagine all of them probably moved to the Elmira area shortly after that 1900 census, You can find plenty of elmira census' with louis and mary fabrizio. I think my next step will be doing uscis and nara searches for naturalization records for louis/luigi and Mary. Since my 1948 case will go ...

Re: Help with possible birth and marriage location
Is it possible that Mary changed her name from Angela Maria to Mary A when she moved here? Also would it be normal for Frank's wife to take his middle name as her first when they came? On that 1900 census her first name is Sevaria...

Re: Help with possible birth and marriage location
That manifest seems to line up well, thanks. I wish it said where he was coming from in Italy. And yes, Vita was their oldest child, and the only one born in California. The rest of their children were all born in Elmira.

Help with possible birth and marriage location
I'm trying to find out where my Great Great grandparents may have been born in Italy and and records associated to their birth and marriage. The oldest records I have for them are from a 1900 san fran census.

Re: Questions about Naturalization
So I ended up finding out my GGF naturalized in 1919 a year after he was honorably discharged from the military (fought in WWI) so that ruled out using him. But I managed to find a line I can use that will involve retaining the services of luigi paiano. I'm going to use my GGGM->GGM->GF->F->Me

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
I ended up finding a different line to go through that will still require Luigi's help. I spoke to him today about my situation and he seems certain it'll be a typical 1948 case so I'm now entering the hunt down paperwork phase.

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
Manu thanks I'm going to check with him. I'm just waiting for my GGF's naturalization records to find out if I need to go this route or if I'll just be able to do this traditionally.
