Re: Montano Family in Marsicovetere, Italy
Thank you. I do have that document as well as Luigi's marriage papers, which still show he was a foundling. I'm truly stuck. Does the birth certificate give any clue as to who he may have lived with?

Re: Montano Family in Marsicovetere, Italy
Thanks so much for the reply. Same family for sure. I have all of that information, but was actually trying to go further back to about 1820, the birth of Luigi Montano (a foundling). I was hoping someone out there would have some information about his parents, who he lived with, or anything that ...

Re: Help translating wetnurse
I appreciate everyone's help. I understand that sometimes a wet nurse can be the actual mother of the child, which is why I inquired regarding the wet nurse. Since I cannot find a birth certificate for another child that Carmela Cutinella had in the previous couple of years prior, I assume she was ...

Re: Help translating wetnurse
Exactly what I'm trying to determine. I'm wondering if the wet nurse was actually the childs biological mother possibly. Was Carmela Cutinella just the caregiver?

Re: Help translating wetnurse
Would Carmela Cutinella have to have an infant to be able to nurse the baby? I can't find record of her having another infant in 1889, or 1888.
Any insight there?

Help translating wetnurse
Can anyone tell me who the wetnurse was for the attached birth certificate for Luigi Montanini? I'm guessing that was his mother, and he was born out of wedlock. His father, Giovanni Montano, later claimed him as his natural father in 1909, but no mention of the mother was given.

Thanks so much for the clarification. Would Maria have been given the surname Toscano?

Help translating birth certificate claiming abandoned child
I have attached a birth certificate for Maria Montemoretti, who was a foundling. While researching my family tree, I have come across a couple of situations whereby a foundling was born, and was given the name of the family they came from (although unknown at the time of birth), and given a surname ...

Re: Help with translation please
Thank you for your help! I appreciate it very much. One more question, his mother on his death certificate was listed as Angela Rosa Notarfrancesco. The extracted copy noted a death on it. Who was that for? Is it possible Angeiola Di Lucia died, and that is what they were referencing?
