First Name Illegible
Greetings!
I am having a hard time reading the first name on this ship manifest from 1913. (first line)
It says "daughter" "illegible" "Saltarelli" "Minturno" but I am not able to determine the first name? It starts with an F based on the other letters of the document. The last name is Saltarelli ...

Re: Marriage Record- Calabrese and Russo
Hi Marty - I don't have a date for the marriage, but I know it would be between 1868 – 1884. If the records are not digitized for me to sift through, how else would I be able to find the marriage record without reaching out to Bracigliano?

Re: Marriage Record- Calabrese and Russo
Hi Tessa,
I am going to write a letter to Bracigliano, but I would like to include some form of payment. I feel that this will help them with sending me official documents if they find them.
Should I get a certified check from my bank? I wonder who I should make it out to.
Thank you!

Re: Surname Ilvino
Hi Kerry,
The closest surnames that might match (that I can find) are:
Illuvioni
Ilveni
Iulvino
You should try as many variations of spellings that you can. Something will come up.

Re: Marriage Record- Calabrese and Russo
Hi Tessa! Thank you! This is very helpful! She was born in Bracigliano and I'm sure she was married there to Ferdinando. I will have to reach out to their offices
I see a few different e-mails listed. Do you recommend which one would have birth/marriage records? I will write the note in Italian ...

Re: Concetta Cocchiola
I found the census record from 1930, but it doesn't give much information on a maiden name.
It does say that she immigrated in 1915. It might be worth looking into that year, as ship manifest might have the women's maiden name.

Did she live in Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut? Were her children Vernon, Charles, Josephine, Florence?

Marriage Record- Calabrese and Russo
Greetings!
I am trying to locate a marriage record from Salerno Provence Italy (most likely the town of Bracigliano) between Giuseppina Calabrese and Ferdinando Russo. Giuseppina was born in Salerno in 1857 (died in 1936, Rome, New York.)
Any thoughts on name variations? Could Ferdinando be ...

Hi Mary,
I have used WorldConnect Rootsweb many times and found it to be helpful. If you use the advanced search it gives many options. I found this to be a helpful resource when doing research outside the U.S. But I will say that it has been most helpful with finding people prior to 1900. When ...

Hi Erudita (and all),
I hope you have been well! I've found a few pieces of information that are helpful with this case. If you remember, we determined that Michele Arlotto was a founding (born Michele Sperduto in Pignola). His obituary in Utica, N.Y. lists a brother (Joseph Arlotto) and two ...

Hello all,
I tried to translate this on my own, but I want to make sure I have the birth date correct: October 14, 1896? I am uncertain of the year.

Hi Erudita,
That's interesting. We don't think he was born in Sicily (that would change everything we know about our family if true!). He always told us Naples. Below is his info. I'm looking for his hometown to find his birth certificate:

Barcelina?
Hello all!
I thought I would get your advice on reading the birthplace on a marriage certificate. I believe it says "Barcelina." I can't seem to find any place in Italy by that name. We are all fairly confident that he was born in the Naples area. Any advice?
Thank you!
