Re: Adolfo/Arnold name discrepancy
Many thanks Chris! How did you go about getting the one-and-the-same statement? Did a lawyer prepare it for you or did you write it yourself? I’m confused about whether I’d have to go through the courts or not.

Adolfo/Arnold name discrepancy
Good morning! I've gone through name discrepancy posts and Detroit consulate experience reports here and on other sites, and it seems like some name discrepancies, at least when names have been anglicized, have not been too big of a deal. I'm not too concerned right now (maybe that will change ...

I have the same issue and I'm hoping the Consulate will understand the misspellings of the names, especially because of the language barrier.
I don't think it would hurt to have the other non-required documents, such as the other census records, to show the names of the family ...

Re: USCIS-provided 1940 A-File suggests no naturalization, but possible papers filed in 1941?
Thanks so much for your input! I really appreciate it - very helpful insight coming from a Master on this forum.
I've requested the CoNE and I've also sent search requests to NARA's regional center at Chicago (received a response email within a day saying they were assigning a staff member to the ...

USCIS-provided 1940 A-File suggests no naturalization, but possible papers filed in 1941?
Greetings! I filed USCIS search and record requests, which yielded an A-File for my GGF that USCIS released in full. The A-File notes that my GGF first applied for citizenship papers in 1916 (my GF was born in 1913, so good to go there at least), that the papers were received in 1916 in Detroit but ...
