I decided to step away for a few days, instead of continuing to make myself crazy.
Good to know that it is back up.
Thank you, everyone!

Re: antenati site
Would anyone translate the message to English. I’ve been unable to use Antenati all week. Thank you.
Helen Gallo
Hi Helen,
I am in the US, and just checked the Antenati site. I am still getting the error message when I try to view records.
I don’t speak any Italian, but this is a translation ...

I looked over there. It's still down.

Re: Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
I just looked at all the matches for men named Clemente Ferraro who traveled to the US. I actually recognized a couple of them from my many searches over the years!
The other Clemente from Maddaloni that you mentioned, was listed at a much younger age, and traveled to the US after the date that we ...

Re: Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
Hi Tom (and Tessa) -
I just came across your thread. A little known resource for passenger manifests is the database of outbound Italian passengers. While not comprehensive by any means, hits are often more successful because this databse originates in Italy. Results can then be used to track ...

Re: Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
I just searched Boston, Philadelphia and Baltimore using the Steve Morse site and FamilySearch, with no luck.
I also thought about other ports of departure, but I am not sure how likely that would be.
I really think that it is an indexing problem - unless Clemente somehow returned as crew.

I don't have the link with me right now, but it is the New York City Vital Records site.Tessa78 wrote: 20 Mar 2024, 16:48 Can you provide the link to the death certificate you posted?
I would like to see the reverse side.
T.
The entire certificate is attached.

Re: Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
Thank you, Tessa.
I also searched for a death act for Clemente in Maddaloni, and never found one. Thanks very much for explaining the reasons why.
I haven't checked other ports of arrival yet, but that does sound like a logical place to start.
You have been a great help, and I really appreciate ...

Re: Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
Thank you, Tessa. That is very kind of you to offer, but it is too much for me to ask.
I wouldn't want to put you to any trouble.
I have searched passenger manifests from Naples in the 1900-1901 time frame in every way I could think of, including the Steve Morse site. I did find other people ...

Re: Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
Thank you very much! This is very helpful.
It looks like I need to search passenger manifests again!
Can I ask what makes you believe that Clemente was in the US at the time of Maria Michela’s death in January 1901? Was it something about her death record?

Searching for My Great-grandfather - Clemente Ferraro
I need some assistance in solving a mystery about paternal grandmother’s father, Clemente Ferraro.

Re: Saving high resolution records on Antenati?
EDIT
I just noticed that the way the site shortens the urls, you won't see the entire url structure with all the necessary data in the post below. Copy the links onto notepad, wordpad, word processing program, etc. to see the full links.
I was able to use this method successfully with ...

Re: Saving high resolution records on Antenati?
It's still doable, but has to be approached a different way. I'm hoping there will end up being an easy way to do it. Meanwhile, in Chrome here is what you can do.
