Re: Looking for my Wife's ancestors
Thank you for this information and sorry for the long delay in the response. Yes, it just doesn't give me the information as you mention. I see what you mention that Millie shows born in Italy. Let me investigate that a bit. My wife's Grandfather, Pietro Paolo isn't even listed on the census which ...

Looking for my Wife's ancestors
I have been unable to find any information on my Wife's Italian Great Grandparents. Her Great Grandfather was Michele Castiglione. He was born circa 1862 in Italy but I don't know where. He came to the USA in 1880 but because it was prior to Ellis Island, records are not easy find. He married in the ...

My Grandfather was born Francesco Antonio DeLucia in Cervino, Italy. I've attached the birth notice. In the early 1900's his name was changed to Francesco DeLucia Sposito. I'm not sure why but it was. I believe it was at the request of his Mother, my Great Grandmother Maria Rivetti DeLucia. My ...

Re: A name change???
Thank you. I have seen Francesco Antonio DeLucia used here in the USA on some of Grandpop Francesco's documents. I understand your suggestion of his Father Antonio being a Foundling and it makes sense. I have not been able to find the Marriage certificate for Antonio and Maria Rivetti. I remember ...

Turns out there are at least 3 Rivetti sisters:
-Maria Grazie
-Filomena
-Angela
So this is continues to be a real task. Thank you so much for your help. I will now focus more on Antonio Sposito and see what i can find there.

Re: Final piece to my Italian Heritage
It certainly looks like that. My Great Grandmother in previous data i found was named Maria Grazie Rivetti. My Godmother born in Maddaloni and came to the USA as an infant was named Maria Grazie DeLucia. So it seemed to me that Maria Grazie was the proper name?

Re: Final piece to my Italian Heritage
The 1859 information appears very interesting and might be the answer. I am not good at translation but one of my NY cousins is and I'm getting help from her. I really believe there is something to the birth announcement and subsequent notes. I'm just looking at the 1826 information. I did find one ...
