Re: JS Children of Non Married Parents
What is acceptable as a written affirmation of paternity? If parents weren't married to each other when child was born but both parents names are on the child's birth certificate is that sufficient? Would including baptism certificate help?

Re: Divorce - Certificate of No Appeal
I will need to obtain 2 "certificates of no appeal"--for my grandmother's divorce (California) and my first marriage (Missouri). If anyone has any suggestions, or better yet a sample of a request letter to send to the relevant court, that would be great. Thanks.

Re: Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
Hello again and thanks for all the help. I wonder how I might be able to access church records in Cerro Tanaro concerning the Massetti family? I am still looking for my grandmother's(Teresa Massetti) birth certificate and although she was born in Argentina (I think!) it is possible that some ...

Re: Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
Thank you for the information about the added notation on Caterina's 1922 return to the US from a visit to Italy. Are you referring to the handwritten numbers "621/67 1-362507-2-24-42" near her name on the manifest? The manifest refers to Caterina as an Italian citizen, so I did not realize that ...

Re: Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
I can find no support for the "South Sandwich Islands" claim of birth for Teresa Massetti, but that has been a family story for years and I don't know why. I did not enter that birth location on Ancestry--another person whose family tree intersects with mine entered the information. I have messaged ...

Re: Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
Hi,
I have not inquired in Cerro Tanaro-I don't know how to do that. If you will tell me how, or if you can point me to a website that gives instructions on how to contact the local authorities in Cerro Tanaro, that would be great. Thanks!

Re: Getting documents from Argentina
I am looking for my grandmother's birth certificate. Her name is Teresa Massetti and she was born in Argentina, probably Buenos Aires, 28 May 1898. Her parents were Italian immigrants who arrived in Argentina 22 November 1897. Their names were Eugenio and Caterina Massetti. I have found their ...

Re: Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
I have not inquired in Cerro Tanaro--I don't know how to make that inquiry. I'd love to ask them. I am not familiar with "Part II books".
Here's another question--I'll post this also, but I want to ask you: What sort of documentation was required to enter Italy, or to leave Italy for another country ...

Fabulous! I can't believe you found this! I would love a translation of the marriage banns, but I don't want to put you to too much trouble. I can take a crack at it with Google Translate. Thanks so much. Emily

Re: Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
Hello to everyone:
Thank you for the interest in my search for my grandmother's birth certificate. Here is what I know about her and her family. Her parents, Eugenio ("Jim") and Caterina Croce Massetti lived in Cerro Tanaro, Italy and were married in 1897 (I think). They left Italy for Argentina ...

Grandmother born in Argentina to Italian parents--need her birth certificate.
Hi,
My grandmother, Teresa Massetti, was born in Argentina in 1898. Her parents arrived there in 1897 from Italy and stayed in Argentina for several years before returning to Italy. I can find zero documentation for her birth. I did find her parents' arrival in Argentina on the Cemla site, but was ...
