BILLI and BERTOLINI families from Giuncugnano

Post by Tramen »

Hello.

I am looking for information regarding the ancestors of Lodovico BILLI born 26/11/1851 and Maria BERTOLINI born 16/3/1859.

One of their 8 children, Francesco, was my grandfather. A number of these immigrated to USA while others immigrated to Australia.

Lodovico's parents were Pellegrino BILLI and Cotilde PIGNINI and I know of 3 brothers, being Luigi, Cesare and Rafaele, but nothing of their families.

Thankyou in advance!

Thanks for your help.
I have a birth date of 28/2/1859 for Cesare so these immigration records could be a match.... Great news about his son. Cesare was married to Maria FERRI, but that is all I know.
Thanks again

Hello:

Does anyone know whether there is any connection between any member of these families and the Lunardi family, also of Giuncugnano? Since it is a small village, I thought it might be possible.

Grateful for any information.
Thank you.

Tramen and Pucci too

The LDS has films of the civil records 1866-1899 and 1911-1929, here is the link.

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library ... ato+civile++

I don't know if they'll help either of you since there's a 12 year gap. If you decide to order films for viewing locate a Family History Center (FHC) and go in to order your films. Here's the link to locate a center
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library ... et_fhc.asp

Takes 2-4 weeks or longer to receive the films, they have to be viewed at the center and cost is approximately $5.00 per film.

Hello Tramen:

I have searched the Australian National Archives site and come up with 33 results for Billi. These are only good for dates, of course, but thought it might be of help for the Australian side.

Hello Tramen
First exuse my english.
I have in my genealogical tree Billi Lodovico married with Bertolini Maria (both of Giuncugnano).
A dauther, Amelia, married a son of my grand father, Nobili Domenico, and moved to Cleveland.
I don't know long of Lodovico if not its descendency.
If they are the good persons, I know the name of the father of Bertolini Maria : Gaudenzio.
If you are intested, let me know

Thankyou for your information Claude. I did not know the name of Maria's father. How did you find that?
We have been in contact before - quite a few years ago now.
Lodovico is my Great Grandfather.
I know very little of the family that went to the US but am willing to share with you what I have discovered.

Hello Tramen,

Are you sure that yours Lodovico Billi and Maria Bertolini are the same persons that I have in my genealogical tree?

If yes :
- the mother's name of Lodovico could be 'Clotilde Pighini', could you verify?
- I know others sons of (mine) Lodovico and Maria: Amelia and Ottavio (who moved to Cleveland), Olivia, Zeffero and Emma (dead in Magliano, comune di Giuncugnano - they had descendancy -) and Enrico (dead in the first word war).
- Bertolini Maria (mine) had a brother Giuseppe, one of your sons (Renato) have a douther (Franca) who maried my brother Raffaello.

Regards,

Claude

Hi Claude
As stated in my first posting, we believe Lodovico's parents were: Pellegrino BILLI and Cotilde PIGNINI. The mothers name is very close to yours - Clotilde PIGHINI.
They had another son, Emilgio, born 20/8/1880.
All of my information is from the descendants of Olivia who emigrated to Australia.
What do you mean by: "they had descendancy?"

Dear Tramen,

excuse me, descendants is the meaning of 'descendancy'.
In my database Billi Olivia maried Fontanini Rinaldo. they had Vito (living in Magliano of Giuncugnano - I worked same time ago with him), Maria and Alberto (I don't know more).
My gg mother (from my mother) was Giuseppina Pighini.
The sister of my mother maried maried a Bertolini (they are living in Perth WA)... and all this peaple had his origin in Magliano di Giuncugnano.
Whath a little word!

Hello
Just an update on what I have discovered so far.
Maria BERTOLINI's parents were Guiseppe BERTOLINI and Fortunata ROSSI.
I can also confirm that Lodovico's mother was Cotilde PIGHINI.
I have been trawling my way through the New York Passenger lists, with quite a bit of success, as many family members obviously travelled there. What a fantastic source of information they are!! Unfortunately, with the high number of similar names and the unreliable spelling of GIUNCUGNANO, it is quite a task.
I am now looking for relatives with the names FONTANINI, ALBERINI, NOBILI, DANTI, BERTONI, FERRI, BERTOLINI, ROSSI, PIGHINI and of course BILLI!
Thanks for your interest!

Hi,
My grandfather was Germano FONTANINI from Magliano. His brother was Archimede. They emigrated to West Aust in 1904-06, and settled in Manjimup. I visited Magliano in 2007 and met Daniela FONTANINI, daughter of Vito FONTANINI.
I am also very friendly with Sesto DANTE born in Magliano, but now living in Manjimup WA. In fact it was Sesto who told me that Magliano was the village of grandfather's birth. Prior to that, all the family knew was to go to Giuncugnano.
My grandfather's parents were Pellegrino FONTANINI and Anna LUNARDI, and I believe his other siblings were: Dominica,Enrico, and Isidoro-who was a Barber in Carrara. This is all I know about them. I would love to learn more. Can anyone help? If anyone wants information about the family in West Australia, I am only to happy to assist.
