I now live in Bunbury, south of Perth, but grew up in Manjimup, West Australia

someone (probably Bertolini Pietro, born in Magliano but emigred in Manjimup about 1950, married De Rosa Rita - at moment living in Perth) told me that Vito has two sibling (Maria, married Danti Samuele and Alberto) who emigred to W.A.
Vito's parents were Rinaldo and Billi Olivia.
Vito's grandfather was Fontanini called 'Carlan' (probably Carlo) he had two sisters : Elena and Dina.
I do not know if that is true or entierly troue, but perhaps we can change some informations.
Probably your Sesto Dante is Sesto Dant-i-, can you tell me more about him?
Do you know Granucci Silvio or other person from Giuncugnano in Manjimup ... or in W.A?

Thanks for your interest! I am also in WA - Albany.
My Grandfather's sister, Olivia BILLI married Rinaldo FONTANINI.
I also have an Emma DANTI who married a brother, Ottavio BILLI.
I wonder how they all relate to each other?
I would be very interested to learn about the families in WA. I have been in contact with them, but have never met them personally - though my mother has.

Hi, I don't know if you got my last message. Basically I told you how I had visited Magliano in 2007. I visited the cemetary and I have photos of the headstone that adorn the stone wall, showing your family members - Olivia Billi and Rinaldo Fontanini. Have you seen them yourself?

I have just read your post from Jan 2009.
Regarding Silvio Granucci, I am his daughter he is still in Manjimup West Australia. I also know Sesto Danti very well, he is also in Manjimup.
Vito, Maria and Alberto Fontanini are cousins of my father my grandmother was Rosa Fontanini, she was Carlo's sister along with Elena and Dina

I remember meeting you when I went to Italy with my mother who is the daughter of Giovanni Batista Costa and Cristina Nobili of Ponteccio so effectively my mother was your father's cousin. I also remeber meeting you when you came to WA to visit Rita, I was at my zia Giulianna's house in Perth. I don't know if you remember.
anyway this is the information my father gave me yeaterday.

Pellegrino Fontanini and Anna Lunardi were the parents of:
-Germano who came to Western Australia and settled in Manimup
-Archimedes who came to Western Australia in 1904 and settled in Manjimup
-Domenica who married a Fornari Un sure of his first name
-Enrico
-Isidoro He worked on marble in Massa di Carrara but mum dad doesn't know what happen to either of them.

Giovanni Fontanini married to Domenica surname unknown where the Parents of;
- Rinaldo who married Olivia Billi (parents of Vito, Maria & alberto)
- Lisa(Lissetta) who married a Guazelli (has four children) she went to Argentina.
- Alberto Who was killed in World Wad 1
- Rosa (my nonna) Married Americo Mario Granucci (Parents of Maria, Silvio (my father), Luigi, Filomena)
- Elena who married Alfredo Pagnini (parents of Berta who married Egidio Malatesta (They Had 4 children), Carlo the postman who married Chelide Danti (they had 4 children), Armida who married Setimo (surname unknown)no children, Arnaldo unsure of his family if he ever married, Albana unsure who she married but she has/had a tree nursery in Pistioa)
- Dina who married Gino Bertolini no children.
When the Spanish flu hit Italy in 1888 both Pellegrino and Anna Fontanini Died so Giovanni took in their children and raised them with his own so he raised 11 children in all.
In so far as Carlo/Carlan my father has heard the name mentioned but has no recollection of who he is unless he is a brother to Pellegrino and Giovanni.

Hi all!

Just an update to follow on from all the information that I have so far received. It seems everyone is somehow related (only indirectly to me)but I still need to follow my direct line which involves the surnames BILLI, BERTOLINI, ROSSI AND PIGHINI. Information on these is still minimal.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
