Antonacci - Gagliardi

I'm looking for information about Antonio Antonacci, who arrived in the US (NY? CT?) in 1900.
He married Maria Leonarda Gagliardi, also arrived in the US (Ellis Island) in 1900. They married in NY December 1900.

Any information about where and when they arrived would be appreciated. THey were both from southern Italy.

I'm new at this, so please tell me of good websites for doing information searches!

Wow, great info and links!

I've found alot of info now.
Antonacci was born 1875, arrived in the US in 1900, died 1970 in West Haven, CT
Gagliardi was born 1876, according to her Italian passport, arrived sometime between Nov and Dec 1900 to marry in an arranged marriage on 22 dec 1900. What is confusing is that Ellis Island received another Maria Gagliardi in 1900, same age, but married and with a 3 year old daughter. Also, she arrived in June 1900, which could not have been possible for MY Gagliardi. Her passport was issued by Italy in November 1900.
How confusing!

I'm going to do a little searching on their parents, hopefully to narrow down some of this info.

What ports besides Ellis Island were possible destinations for Italian immigrants in 1900? I don't find a record of Maria Leonarda Gagliardi landing at Ellis Island that matches my person. COuld she have landed at another port? and where can I find those records?
Is it possible for someone to have landed in NY WITHOUT going through Ellis Island?

unfortunately there is no place of birth listed....
It was very common that immigrants married women from the same places so possible he was from Campofranco, same Maria's place of birth.

Wow! You guys are experts!
Yes, I believe Maria Gagliano's name was mistranscribed, as the arrival date and birth place both match what you found - Gazliano and Campofranco are actually Gagliano and Castelfranco.

The 5 children match as well, so this is definitely them. I have to look at the info more closely, but this is incredibly helpful!
