Surnames,Brucato

Post by Antoinia2 »

I am looking for information about my grandfather, Calogero Brucato. He was born in Santa Caternia,Sicily in 1885. He came to the United States in 1903 at the age of 18. His father's name was Giuseppi Brucato and his mother was Maria. If anyone has any information on the Brucato name I would be most grateful to hear from you .

Thank You
A Brucato

Dedar Antonia the best way to start is to work backward from www.ellisisland.org website for his arrival in the USA where you will get vital information as to his age and origin and from the ships manifest to whom he was coming here in this country and whom he left behind in Italt. If you wish to find documents then you would have to write to the Uffico Di Stato Civile in Santa Caterina in italian language. There are form letters which can be obtained from www.circolocalabrese.org under resources and you can look for relative at www.paginebianche.it and insert the surname in the first line and the town of Santa Caterina in the third line and click CERCA for the listing of any Brucato in that town by name, address and tgelephone number. Please get back if you need addditinal information. Peter
