Re: Earthquake
It's a very serious event, it's 8.30 a.m. now and the tv news are talking of about 30 victims....
The epicentre is in the village of Arischia in the abruzzo region...
I'm praying too....
I live far from the area so I didn't noticed the tremors but it was very strong....
Thank you Essgee.....

Re: Earthquake
I live in Rome and tonight at 3.30am the tremor was strong enough to awake us. We had some fear but never thought it would have caused so many damages and victims.
Re: Earthquake
The word is not good. As many as 50 people killed and the number likely to rise. Apparently blocks of buildings were destroyed or damaged. Many without homes.
May they find shelter and and safety. And our condolences to the families of those who were killed.

Elba, Grazie. I have a friend from Italy who lives here in Michigan who has need of those links. He is not awake yet.
He is from Sicily. I do not know if he has direct family in Abruzzo area. Here it is just after 9am.
Grazie,
MiaAna

Re: Earthquake
The damage is centred close to L'Aquila and surrounding communities. I am in Sora and slept through although there is minor damage here in town.

Our prayers for all,
Re: Earthquake
I'm visiting family in Agnone, about 70 km away, and the quake woke me up. There was some damage here, but not much. All of the public buildings were closed so that they could assess the structures. Family in Chieti say there was more damage there, but nothing like poor L'Aquila. As Essgee said, the word from there is not good.
