searching origins of TOROSSI surname

Hello, I would like to trace the last name TOROSSI.

There are 54 persons in Italy with the surname Torossi and 65% are from Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. The surname does not appear to be listed among the Italian surname dictionary but it is apparent that it is local in origin stemming from the base name Torre meaning tower. There are many variations of this surname. Perhaps if you go to www.google.com and insert the surname Torossi in the title and genealogy alongside that surname a listing of person who may have conducted research may appear. Peter

Thank you Peter. I was born in that area. What I am trying to find out is if it is a Jewish name and if my family came from Spain where the name Torres is listed. I will go to Google. Thank you again. Mirella
