Death Certificate of Agostino Falbo, Boomer, WV

Post by ldineen »

I was wondering if someone could help me find the death cert. of my great-grandfather, Agostino Falbo. He died in Boomer, Wv around 1920 +/-
I've never been able to find it. Some wonderful people on this site, found my great-grandmother's death cert. for me. Something none of my family members had and nobody even knew the exact cause of her death until then. So, I am asking for help again.

Agostino was born in Caccuri, Calabria about 1876 and married Anna Carolina Caputo in Boomer, WV in around 1907... I'll have to go look at the papers. He died at the age of 44 of TB and/or Black Lung. He worked at Boomer Coal and Coke.

Thank you for your help.

ldneen,

you can try to search using this (free) site:

http://search.labs.familysearch.org/rec ... tml#p=home

in the database:

"West Virginia Marriages 1853-1970" I found a reference to Agostino and Maria Annuza (maybe Annunziata/Annunzia) Caputa:

Groom's name: Agostino Folbo
Groom's age: 31
Groom's estimated birth year: 1877
Bride's name: Maria Annuza Caputa
Bride's age: 23
Bride's estimated year of birth: 1885
Marriage date: 14 November 1908
Marriage place: Montgomery - Fayette - West Virginia
Father of groom's name: Rafaela Folbo (Raffaele)
Mother of groom's name: Anna M. Folbo
Father of bride's name: Giuseppe Caputa
Mother of bride's name: C.A. Caputa

I tried to search in the database "West Virginia Deaths 1853-1970" with no luck... maybe lastname was mispelled too... :?

Laura :D

Biff,

Thank you, that is very interesting! I couldn't seem to find anything with the websites above. Where did you find this? Was there anyother info? Can I pull it up? It might be it?!

Thank you very much!

I found the record on the West Virginia Vital Records site which Laura posted a link for above. Searched Death Records for Fayette County, first name Aug*, no last name, year 1925, plus or minus five years. I'm not sure if it was my computer, connection or the site itself but I encountered a lot of time outs before finally accessing the record.

:D Hello Biff :D !
I misssed you.
It's not your computer, the WV site is pretty tempermental.
If it says 'records found' without listing them, sometimes you can try 'reload'. More often you have to log back in and out several times.

Biff,
Ok, got it to work. It might be him. I will ask my grandmother. She was a young child when he died and she seemed to remember he had TB or black lung. I guess because of all of the coughing and what accompanies the cough...... So the Luekemia is confusting me. The interesting thing is, my grandmother's name got changed to Farber, and the death cert. says August Farber. His world war I draft card has him called "August" so, to me, it sure looks like you found him. Thank you! Maybe I can research some symptoms of Leukemia...

I think we are of the same Falbo family. My grandmother Rosalia Falbo came from Caccuri and her dad was Vincenzo Falbo. Would like to share information.

Hi John,

I think we are related. My Great Grandfather was John (Gennaro) Fablo, son of Vincenzo. His sister was Rosalia. I spoke to Laura (ldineen - my newfound cousin!) the other day and she thinks that you and I are related too. She tells me that you have a lot of information about our Falbos. I would love to talk with you.

Thanks,
Tiffany
