Re: Macchia da Sole
Macchia Da Sole is a "frazione" (outlying area absorbed buy expanding town becoming part of the "new town" which in your case is VALLE CASTELLANA, Teramo province, Abruzzi region.
Go to www.nonsolocap.it/cap?k=-Valle+Castellana and then click on the town name for the town government webpage and to the right is the www for the tourist page. Scroll down to MUNICIPIO (town hall) where you write for documents (BMD's)
For telephone directory go to www.paginebianche.it and put insurname in first line and Valle Castellana in second line and click CERCA for any persons with your last name.www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/sa ... etter.html for letter to a potential relative
Also go to www,.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/italian-form-letters.html for birth, marriage or death records.

Re: Macchia da Sole
Thank you Peter,
I am still looking to hear from anyone from this area. What the town is like now and what it was like in the late 1800's early 1900's when my grandfather grew up there.
His name over here was Sal Baldassero. But it could have been changed when he arrived in Canada. Baldassaro, Baldassere, I am not sure. Hoping someone was from this town.

Re: Macchia da Sole
Dear Lenny When you go to www.paginebianche.it and inthe first line put inBaldassare and inthe second line put in Abruzzo so that all Baldassare are listed. Perhaps any with the same first names are relatives in Valle Castellana and so send them the potential relative letter I furnished you.
If there are none seek out from any Abruzzo organizations in Canada where you live. Go to www.abruzzo2000.com =Peter=
