Post by donnawright »

Erano i suoi fratelli e sorelli. Mio padre che Domenico era suo padre si chiama Sabatino.

This is a piece of an email. Please clarify who is who for me. Appreciate the help.

Last part doesn't really make sense - but here goes....

Erano i suoi fratelli e sorelli.
They were his brothers and sisters.

Mio padre che Domenico era suo padre si chiama Sabatino.
My father that Domenico was his father is called Sabatino

You didn't do any better than I did, Elba.. haha... What you wrote is what I thought it said, but it didn't make sense to me either, So, ask the experts! I'm sure I put the message in correctly, since I copied/pasted directly from the email. But thank you.

I did wonder if the sender had done a cut and paste and it should/could have read something like this (pure supposition - I assure you...):

Mio padre <>si chiama Sabatino<> che Domenico era suo padre .
My father<>is called Sabatino<> that Domenico was his father

Oh what fun you can have when translating.....
