The term FIORE means flowers in english. There is no equivalent english translation for a NAME Fiore. Italians would normally defer to an english name starting with F like Frank but thats not a hard fast rule. Peter

HI,
I don't know what it means in English but my great uncle's name is Fiorindo. I wonder if Fiore could be a short form of that name?

I believe that Fiuorindo is a short form for fiore. I could be mistaken since fiorindo is listed as a bonafide first name in Italy. Peter
