Porco - Parco - Gagliardi - Giordano - Deluca

Post by MParco »

Hello everyone,
I'm researching my wife's family tree. Her maiden name is Parco but it was changed from Porco a few generations ago. Her grandfather was named Carmine Porco. He was born in Lago, Cosenza, Italy and moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. If anyone has any information please e-mail me at mjdeeb@earthlink.net
Other names in her family tree are Deluca, Giordano, and possibly Gagliardi (although I haven't verified the connection yet).
Thanks

For starters go to www.ellisisland,.org for his entry intoi ther USA as an immigrant. You can review the data on the website as well as the ships manifest as to whom he was destined when he arrived and age and marital status etc. From there you can go to www.paginebianche.it and put in Porco in the first line and Lago in the third line and click CERCA. There will appear a listing of Lago as a comune (town) and a series of suburbs (Ignore these and select Lago under COMUNE. There will appear 28 potgential reltives whom you may wish to communicate with ewither all wiuth just one same letter to fdind out if they are relkated to you or by specific names should you know them by names. If you wish further data then get back to me with research objectives such as documents and family genealogy back to the early 1800's. Peter

Ciao
my Father's family is fromDomanico Cosenza and in the 1700s from Lago.
There are many Porcos in Domanico today....In fact I am in contact with a woman who lives on Long Island who is a Porco and was born there...
I have been there many times and met several Porcos.

I am interested in the surname of Giordano in your family tree. My grandmother, Josephine Giordano was from Feletto, Italy, Her father's name was Antonio Giordano born about 1860 and his father Martin Giordano, born about 1814. Josephine's mother was Maria Romano. Please contact me at pmack@alltel.net. Thank you.

My mother was a gagliardi, my nana was a malfetta (though I do not know how to spell it) I am just beginning my search. I believe that my great grandparents brought over their kids. I do not know if my grandparents met here or moved here married. I heard over family came from Bary n Naples. Rosa Maria Malfetta n Michael Angelo Gagliardi.

Hi Tony

The LDS has microfilms for your comune (Aprigliano). Civil records from 1809-1910 listing births, deaths, marriages etc.
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library ... ato+civile++

Find a Family History Center and go in to order the films you would like to view. You should be able to find your grandparents marriage records as well as their births and additional family members.

If you need help, just post back. Hope this helps.
