I have come across my Grandmother's parents' marriage certificate (in Italian). Had my Grandfather translate...
They were Angelo Russo and Annunziata Paino both of "Malfa Messina".
They were married in Boston, MA on 22 April 1906. Angelo's parents are listed as Lorenzo and Anna (Santospirito) Russo; Annunziata's parents were Onofrio and Annunziata (Di Lorenzo) Paino. She had a sister Catterina here, listed as a witness. Looking for anyone with connection to these families. Also, does anyone know if Malfa would be the town or village in Messina? Lisa

When I look on the maps I see Malfa on an island north of Sicily, then I see Messina on the northeastern tip of Sicily. Am I right in assuming that the Lipari Island chain is part of the province of Messina? Which is in the region of Sicily? I want to get my terminology correct; I'm not really this ignorant. Thank you for the links to those websites, they are great. I appreciate anything I can have translated. Some Italian I can sort of make out this gist of; but I definately do not speak the language. My grandfather helps me out; he's still pretty good at 93!

Peter, once again thank you for you help! I have printed out all my surnames in the areas my family came from. If I were to send a letter to someone in Italy would I address it the way that it is shown in Paginebianche? For example:
Alberto Paino comes up:
Paino Alberto
98050 Malfa (ME) - Via Roma, 159
I gather that Via Roma is the street name and 159 must be the number of the house? I was hoping you could tell me how to properly address the envelope.
I am thinking of having my Grandfather help me compose a letter in Italian to send to all our cousins!
