Citizenship requirements for documents from Italy?????

I am well aware of the many requirements of the documents needed from outside Italy, but what are the requirements for the ITALIAN birth and marriage records in order to use them to gain citizenship?

I have a print from microfilm. Will the Italian authorities confirm the authenticity? I will apply at the Helsinki Consulate.

If a new certified copy is needed does anyone have a good template for a letter to the local town hall where the record is??

You want to get an "estratto dell’atto di nascita" for the birth certificate.
